My biography

 welcome to my blog


Hi, I introduce myself, my name is Sofía Polanco.


 I am from Santiago de Chile, I was born on March 10, 2003. During my first years of study in elementary school I was in a school of nuns which was very strict and only for women called carmen arriaran and in high school I changed to another school where I had more freedom called heinrich high school. I am actually studying social work at the university of chile.


My family in general is big, on my mom's side I have 8 uncles and aunts and more than 24 cousins and those cousins have children and we are close and there are big annual meetings and on my dad's side I have only 2 uncles but my family nucleus is composed of my two sisters and my mom.


my hobbies are crafts, such as molding with clay, making earrings, bracelets, bath bombs, infusions, embroidery as well as knitting my own clothes, with design, specifically more in winter with collars and hats and I am currently learning to make handmade soap, shampoo and conditioner.

  Hi people, this will be my last post of the year, so enjoy it: I like besides studying my career, I like languages, it's a really interesting subject, studying a language means that you are introducing yourself to a new culture and their way of thinking, especially in Asian languages, like Chinese, Korean and Japanese. I like to study these languages because I find them challenging, it has another degree of difficulty, for me it's like a challenge, but as each language is unique and complex it caught my attention because I consume Asian products and entertainment, so it's something I hear on a daily basis and the culture is completely different from ours which is more western. social work

  I am currently studying the profession of social work at the university of chile, I decided to study this career because it was a way to improve the state systems of the country, I do not see it as doing common good for the world, but to help the everyday people of our country.  I faithfully believe that change must be made from childhood since it is more difficult to make change when they are adults, so I see myself practicing my specialty in the national service for minors or juvenile prisons, creating a social intervention project or just reporting the situations that occur with the proper analysis, but trying to make a real change in them. A social worker can do many things, not only intervene in a specific territory or deal with people, we can even help to create a better state system for the people of a country, we can help from the smallest thing like a report to create social programs for entire regions, always with the intention of creating new opportunities and...

university and job

When I was younger, wanted to be a truck driver. I never saw it as a dream job because I had never thought about it, but I was very interested in it, until I realized that camionera and carabinera were different things,but I liked them both. When I was thinking about what to study and go to college, I was thinking about psychology, sociology, social work and history degree, and what made me finally decide for social work was because between my last two options which were social work and sociology, I decided for the option where I was going to have more labor market offer and income. Currently my college experience has not been as rewarding due to the pandemic and that I have only had online classes but so far the community, the classmates is great.  Have a good day and thank you for reading
